My curls are so dry and frizzy

My hair is super dry and gets so frizzy. I’ve been using shea butter and coconut oil, but it’s not helping. What am I doing wrong?

Hey curlfriend,

You’re not doing anything wrong—this is a common frustration, especially for fine curls. Here’s what might be happening:

Shea butter and coconut oil are heavy
These ingredients are rich and can work for some hair types—but for fine curls, they often sit on top of the hair instead of absorbing. That can lead to:

  • Buildup
  • Frizz
  • Dryness that feels like moisture is missing—because it’s actually blocked

Heavy oils can weigh down fine curls
When moisture can’t penetrate your strands properly, curls can feel dry and look frizzy.

🩵 What helps fine curls instead:

  • Lightweight, water-based hydration that your hair can actually absorb
  • Styling products that support curl shape without weighing curls down
  • Avoiding heavy butters and oils that sit on the surface

💧 Example: A lightweight coconut oil and shea butter free Leave-In conditioner and Styler can provide hydration, frizz control, and soft, touchable curl definition—without heaviness.

🌿 Tips to try:

  • Apply the leave-in while hair is damp to lock in moisture
  • Apply and smooth on styler to encourage curl definition and smooth frizz
  • Air-dry or diffuse on low heat for soft volume

Your curls don’t need heavy oils—they need the right hydration and frizz-fighting ingredients to feel soft, defined, and healthy.

✨ Keep it simple, keep it light, and enjoy your curls every day!
